Grilled Brie and Apple Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole-wheat bread
  • 1 medium apple (Granny Smith recommended, cored, peeled, and diced)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ΒΌ teaspoon ginger (powdered)
  • to taste La Bonne Vie cheese (Brie, sliced)
  • to taste butter (for cooking)
  • optional turkey

Instructions

  1. Combine diced apple, maple syrup, vinegar, powdered ginger, and water in a small pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Simmer the mixture on low heat for 5 minutes, then drain the apples and mash them to form a coarse paste.
  3. Spread the apple chutney over two slices of bread, then layer with Brie and turkey if using.
  4. Top with the remaining two slices of bread.
  5. In a pan or griddle, melt butter and cook the sandwich for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Slice and serve warm.
