Slow Cooker Apple Cider Pulled Pork

Ingredients

The pork

  • 3.5 lb. pork shoulder

The seasoning

  • 1 small white onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 leaf bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Place half of the sliced onion in the slow cooker.
  2. Set the pork on top of the onions and cover with the remaining onions.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the apple cider, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  4. Pour the mixture over the pork and onions in the slow cooker.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
  6. Shred the pork with two forks and mix it back into the juices before serving.
