Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 unit egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

The mix-ins

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips and caramel bits.
  7. Form the dough into rounded tablespoon-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Chill the cookie sheet in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  9. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes until the tops are slightly browned.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Once cooled, drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
