Shrimp Marinade

Ingredients

The marinade

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • tablespoons honey
  • tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

The shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, honey, soy sauce, lemon zest, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl and whisk together.
  2. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the marinade for later use, then add garlic and chili flakes to the bowl.
  3. Place shrimp in a resealable bag and pour in the marinade, sealing the bag and shaking to coat the shrimp.
  4. Refrigerate the shrimp to marinate for at least 1 hour, up to 8 hours.
  5. Cook the shrimp by broiling, grilling, or sautéing for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  6. Drizzle the reserved marinade over the cooked shrimp and serve.
