Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • lbs. chicken wings, drumettes and mid sections

The sauce

  • 1 inch ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sake or rice wine (optional)
  • 3 dashes ground white pepper
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ tablespoon dark soy sauce (optional, for coloring)
  • ½ tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • to taste salt
  • to taste white sesame seeds (for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and drain them.
  2. Transfer the chicken wings and all the ingredients into a slow cooker, then stir to combine well.
  3. Cook on high heat for 3½ hours.
  4. Turn off the heat, dish out the contents, top with white sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
