Ingredients

The chicken

  • 20 oz bone-in chicken thighs
  • to taste white sesame (for garnishing)
  • to taste chopped scallions (for garnishing)

The sauce

  • 4 tablespoons San-J Reduced Sodium Tamari
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon white sesame

Instructions

  1. 1. Pan-fry the chicken in a skillet, skin-side down, until both sides are nicely browned.
  2. 2. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a small bowl and stir to combine well.
  3. 3. Arrange the chicken in the slow cooker and pour in the sauce.
  4. 4. Turn the heat to high and cook for 3 hours.
  5. 5. Remove the chicken to a serving platter, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions, and serve immediately.
