Easy Hoisin Shrimp

Ingredients

The shrimp and sauce

  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional toppings

  • to taste toasted sesame seeds
  • to taste thinly-sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Mix hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and sauté half of the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
  4. Remove cooked shrimp and repeat with the remaining shrimp.
  5. Add the first batch of shrimp back to the pan with the hoisin sauce mixture and sauté for 1-2 minutes until coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve warm over rice, quinoa, noodles, or veggies.
