Ingredients

The main ingredients

  • 12 oz. shrimp, shelled and deveined, tail-on
  • 6 oz. broccoli florets
  • 1 small red bell pepper, cut into pieces
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cooking oil
  • 6 slices ginger, peeled
  • to taste white sesame, for garnishing

The sauce

  • 4 tablespoons San-J hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp with cold water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, water, and cornstarch until well combined.
  3. Heat a skillet or wok over medium heat and add the cooking oil.
  4. Sauté the ginger until aromatic, then add the shrimp and stir until they turn white.
  5. Add the broccoli florets and red bell pepper, stirring to combine.
  6. Pour the sauce into the skillet, stirring continuously until it thickens.
  7. Turn off the heat, transfer the shrimp to a serving platter, and garnish with white sesame seeds.
  8. Serve immediately.
