Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15-ounce) diced fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 1 medium serrano or jalapeño pepper
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 medium lime, juiced
  • ½ cup chopped white or red onion
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2-4 Tbsp diced mild green chilies (optional)
  • to taste Stevia or cane sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine tomatoes, pepper, cilantro, lime juice, onion, cumin, salt, and garlic in a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse the mixture until well-blended but still semi-chunky.
  3. Taste and adjust the flavor as needed by adding more salt, lime, garlic, cilantro, or sugar.
  4. Serve immediately with chips or store leftovers in a sealed container.
