Ingredients

The salsa

  • 4 medium tomatoes, quartered
  • ½ small red onion
  • 3 pieces green onions
  • ¼ cup cilantro with stems
  • 1 small bell pepper (orange recommended)
  • 4 cloves garlic

The spices

  • 1 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
  • teaspoons ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 small lime (zest)
  • optional small jalapeño, seeded

Instructions

  1. Process 3 tomatoes, red onion, green onion, cilantro, lime zest, bell pepper, and garlic in a food processor until combined.
  2. Add the remaining tomato, salt, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and lime juice and pulse again.
  3. Adjust consistency to your liking, either chunky or smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  5. Transfer to a jar or serve immediately with tortilla chips.
