Ingredients

The hot chocolate

  • 2 ½ cups coconut milk
  • 1 Tbsp chopped cacao butter
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp maca (optional)
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch sea salt

For serving

  • Coconut Whipped Cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. In a small saucepan, combine coconut milk and cacao butter, bringing to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. 2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for a few minutes, whisking occasionally until melted and combined.
  3. 3. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup, coconut butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sea salt. Optionally, add maca.
  4. 4. Adjust sweetness and flavor as needed, adding more maple syrup or cacao butter if desired.
  5. 5. Finally, add vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
  6. 6. Divide the mixture into serving glasses and top with coconut whipped cream and additional spices if desired.
