Apple Cider Sangria

Instructions
- Make simple syrup by boiling water and sugar for about one minute, then let it cool.
- While the syrup cools, mix the wine, apple cider, rum, apples, pomegranate arils, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks in a pitcher.
- Add the cooled simple syrup to the mixture and stir well.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.
