Ingredients

The base

  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • cup coconut flour
  • ½ cup almond meal
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup smooth creamy almond butter
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate (melted)
  • 1 tbsp gluten free single malt whiskey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp butter extract (optional)
  • ½ cup maple syrup, honey, or agave nectar
  • Dash sea salt

For rolling

  • extra cocoa powder
  • coconut sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix in the almond butter, followed by the melted chocolate, maple syrup (or honey), and extracts.
  3. Mix thoroughly, using your hands if necessary, and roll into bite-sized balls.
  4. Place the balls in the freezer to harden.
  5. Once hardened, roll the bites in extra cocoa powder and coconut sugar if desired.
  6. Store in the freezer or refrigerator to maintain freshness.
