Ingredients

The marinade

  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves

The chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.3 lbs)

Cooking oil

  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, cinnamon, oregano, salt, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts into two thinner pieces or pound them to an even thickness.
  3. Place the chicken in a dish or zip-top bag and pour the yogurt marinade over it, ensuring all sides are coated.
  4. Refrigerate the chicken for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
  5. Heat ½ Tbsp of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook two pieces of chicken until browned on each side, then transfer to a cutting board.
  7. Repeat with the remaining chicken and oil.
  8. Let the chicken rest for five minutes before slicing and serving.
