Ingredients

The patties

  • 1 lb to 1 ¼ lb ground chicken breast
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 Tablespoons gluten free flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder or minced onion
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon hot sauce (optional)

For serving

  • as needed gluten free burger buns
  • as needed sliced onion
  • as needed lettuce leaves
  • as needed optional sauces (adobo sauce, chipotle mayo, guacamole)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients for the patties in a bowl and mix until evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 to 6 equal patties about 1 inch thick and place on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and grease it.
  4. Cook the patties on the grill for 4 to 6 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Toast the buns and assemble the burgers with toppings as desired.
