Ingredients

The base

  • 4–5 cups spring water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons ginger or 1 tbsp fresh ginger root
  • ¼ cups lemon juice or juice of 1 lemon
  • 2–4 tablespoons maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon optional lemon extract or lemon powder
  • 1 pinch black pepper (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Lemon slices

Instructions

  1. 1. Bring water to a light boil and add in spices, then boil again for a minute.
  2. 2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. 3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before straining the liquid.
  4. 4. Pour the strained liquid into a pitcher and mix in lemon juice and sweetener.
  5. 5. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint, then store in the fridge.
