Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine flaxseed meal and water, letting it rest for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Add brown sugar, melted vegan butter, and vanilla to the bowl and whisk until well combined.
- Fold in the gluten-free flour blend, baking powder, and sea salt.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and optional walnuts until just combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-28 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before slicing into bars.
