Balsamic Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients

The marinade

  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup tamari sauce
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup water (optional)

The main ingredient

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops

Instructions

  1. Blend together all marinade ingredients except for the water.
  2. Place pork chops in a large bowl or baking pan and pour the marinade over them, adding water if necessary to cover the chops.
  3. Allow pork chops to marinate for 2 to 4 hours.
  4. Heat a sauté pan until very hot and lightly coat it with oil.
  5. Place the pork chops in the pan and sear one side for at least two minutes until caramelized.
  6. Turn the pork chops over and sear the other side for 2 to 4 minutes.
  7. Turn the chops one last time, add two tablespoons of the marinade to the pan, and after one minute, remove from heat.
  8. Serve the pork chops with your favorite sides.
