Ingredients

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup water (for simple syrup)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3-5 cups cold water
  • 2 lemons thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and ¾ cup water in a pot and bring to a boil, stirring until dissolved to make simple syrup.
  2. Remove from heat and let the simple syrup cool.
  3. Juice the lemons to get 1 cup of lemon juice, straining out pulp and seeds.
  4. In a large pitcher, mix the lemon juice, 1 cup of simple syrup, and 3 cups of cold water.
  5. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness by adding more water if desired.
  6. Add lemon slices to the pitcher and chill or serve immediately over ice.
