Ingredients

The cod

  • 4 pieces cod fillets, skinless, about 1-inch thick

The coating

  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¾ tsp salt, or to taste
  • ¾ tsp freshly ground black pepper

The sauce

  • 5 Tbsp Danish Creamery Butter, cut into 1 Tbsp pieces, divided
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • Tbsp low-sodium chicken broth
  • Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Whisk together flour and seasonings in a small bowl.
  2. Spread the flour mixture over both sides of the cod fillets.
  3. Melt 1 Tbsp of butter and 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the cod until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side, then transfer to serving plates.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and melt the remaining butter in the same skillet.
  6. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 15 seconds.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in chicken broth and lemon juice, then pour the sauce over the cod.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
