Ingredients

The pasta

  • 12 oz dry thin spaghetti

The meat

  • 1 lb 99% lean ground turkey breast

The vegetables

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium zucchini, shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

The sauces and seasonings

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Better Than Bouillon Beef Base
  • 24 oz jar pasta sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce

The dairy

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ oz Parmesan cheese, finely shredded
  • 2 cups nonfat cottage cheese
  • 6 oz shredded 2% milk Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Cook spaghetti until al dente and drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground turkey with salt and pepper, then add onion and zucchini, cooking until softened.
  4. Stir in garlic and beef base, then add pasta sauce and seasonings, and reduce heat.
  5. In a bowl, beat eggs and mix with tomato sauce and Parmesan, then combine with hot spaghetti.
  6. Layer half of the spaghetti mixture in the baking dish, followed by cottage cheese and meat sauce, then sprinkle with Mozzarella.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining Mozzarella on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  9. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
