Ingredients

The Sandwich

  • 1 baguette French Bread or Sourdough
  • 1 lb prime rib or roast beef
  • 8–10 slices provolone cheese

The Broth

  • 32 oz beef broth

Optional Dipping Sauce

  • to taste secretariat dipping sauce or horseradish mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it on a cookie sheet lined with foil.
  3. Layer both sides of the baguette with provolone cheese and place the roast beef on the side to heat.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Heat the beef broth on the stove until hot.
  6. Remove the baguette from the oven, place the meat evenly on the bottom half, and cover with the top half.
  7. Slice the sandwich into 3-inch portions and serve with a small serving of beef broth and optional dipping sauce.
