Homemade Irish Cream

Ingredients

The base

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • teaspoons instant coffee or espresso granules
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 12-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Irish whiskey

For garnish

  • to taste whipped cream
  • to taste small piece of chocolate, shaved

Instructions

  1. Warm ¼ cup of heavy cream with chocolate syrup, coffee granules, and salt in a small saucepan until dissolved.
  2. Blend the cream mixture with the remaining heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Slowly add the whiskey to the blender while running to avoid curdling.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a pitcher and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with whipped cream and grated chocolate if desired.
