Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 5 pounds Russet potatoes, peeled & cubed

The seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

The liquid

  • 1 cup water

The optional ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into roughly 1-inch chunks.
  2. Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray and add the potatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the water over the potatoes and cover with the lid.
  4. Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours until fork tender, stirring once per hour if possible.
  5. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher, adding butter and milk until smooth.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm, adding more liquid if necessary.
