Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

The potatoes

russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
The mixture

butter (2 sticks)

sour cream

freshly ground black pepper

fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
- Add the potatoes and milk to the bottom of a slow cooker.
- Sprinkle with salt and top with butter.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, stirring once every hour.
- Remove the cover and mash the potatoes until uniform.
- Fold in the sour cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chives if desired.
