Instructions
- Combine all meatball ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined, then shape into 1-inch balls.
- Pan-fry the meatballs in a non-stick pan over medium heat for 5-6 minutes until browned, then remove them from the pan.
- In the same pan, add olive oil, onion, and garlic, and cook until fragrant, then add the remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer.
- Add the meatballs back into the sauce and cook through.
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F, slice the hoagie rolls in half, and fill them with meatballs and marinara sauce, then top with mozzarella cheese.
- Place the rolls open-faced on a baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts, then serve immediately.
