Italian Meatball Sub Sandwich

Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • cup Italian Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large Organic Egg
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • ¼ tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Burger Spice
  • 2 tsp Oregano

The sandwich

  • 1 10 in. Sourdough Loaf
  • 4 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese

The tomato sauce

  • 15 oz Tomato Sauce
  • cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all meatball ingredients in a large bowl using your hands.
  2. Form the mixture into palm-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake the meatballs at 375°F for 25 minutes.
  4. While the meatballs bake, combine tomato sauce ingredients in a pan over low heat and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the sauce from heat and add the cooked meatballs, coating them with the sauce.
  6. Cut the sourdough loaf in half horizontally and place Swiss cheese on the bottom half.
  7. Add the sauced meatballs on top of the Swiss cheese and layer with Provolone cheese.
  8. Place the sandwich on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese melts. Serve hot.
