Nuevo Cubano Sandwich

Ingredients

The puree

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 15-ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained

The sandwich

  • to taste ham
  • to taste provolone cheese
  • to taste mango slices
  • to taste wheat bread
  • to taste black bean puree

Instructions

  1. Spread the black bean puree evenly on the bottom halves of the prepared bread.
  2. Layer the sandwich with ham, mango slices, and provolone cheese.
  3. Top with another slice of bread.
  4. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich.
  5. Grill in a skillet or Panini Press until golden brown.
