Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat the butter and sugar until smooth, then add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Mix in the dry ingredients until combined, adding more flour if the dough is too soft.
- Divide the dough in half, roll out to ¼-inch thickness, and chill for at least 1–2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cut the chilled dough into shapes using cookie cutters and bake for 11–12 minutes.
- Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack before decorating.
- Prepare the icing and decorate the cookies as desired.
