Ingredients

The Pizza Dough

  • 1 ½ cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¼ cups almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons whey protein powder

The Toppings

  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ cup jarred Marinara Sauce
  • 2 links Italian sausage
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • ¼ cup onion, chopped
  • 2 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 ½ cups grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Brown the sausage, drain, and set aside.
  3. Chop and sauté the vegetables until softened.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine grated mozzarella and cream cheese, and microwave for 1½ - 2 minutes.
  5. Stir the melted cheeses together, then add the egg and mix until combined.
  6. Add almond flour and whey protein powder, blending until the dough is elastic.
  7. On a parchment-lined sheet pan, pat or roll out the dough evenly, then dock it with a fork.
  8. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Rub the baked crust with garlic, then spread marinara sauce and top with half the cheese.
  10. Add the cooked sausage, vegetables, and remaining cheese on top.
  11. Broil for about 5 minutes until hot and cheese is melted.
