- Add 2 tablespoons of canola oil and 2-3 popcorn kernels to a large pot, cover, and heat on medium-high until the test kernels pop.
- Once the test kernels pop, add ⅓ cup of popcorn kernels to the pot and stir to coat in oil, then cover with the lid slightly ajar.
- When popping starts, shake the pot every 20-30 seconds to prevent burning.
- When popping slows to 3-4 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat.
- Season with salt and any other desired seasonings immediately after popping.
