Ingredients

The Popcorn

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • to taste optional popcorn salt

The White Chocolate Coating

  • 6 cups white chocolate chips or chunks
  • 3 teaspoons coconut oil
  • as needed optional food coloring (orange, green, & purple)

Suggested Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup small candy eyes
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup M&Ms (brown, green, orange, or purple)
  • 1 cup Reese's Pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare 3 large baking sheets by covering them with parchment paper.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a large pot over medium heat and test with a few popcorn kernels.
  3. Once the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
  4. Shake the pot occasionally until popping slows down, then remove from heat and season with popcorn salt if desired.
  5. Divide the popped popcorn evenly into 3 large bowls.
  6. Melt white chocolate with coconut oil in microwave-safe bowls, stirring until smooth.
  7. Add food coloring to each bowl of melted chocolate and mix until desired colors are achieved.
  8. Toss each colored chocolate with the corresponding bowl of popcorn until fully coated.
  9. Spread the coated popcorn on the prepared baking sheets and sprinkle with mix-ins while still melty.
  10. Allow popcorn to dry for 5 minutes before breaking into pieces and serving.
