Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder or cacao powder
  • 2 Tbsp minced cocoa butter
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine water, maple syrup, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce heat slightly and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened, whisking occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate intensity as needed.
  5. Use immediately or let cool and store in a jar in the refrigerator.
