Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground pork, chicken, or turkey (90-93% lean)
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper chili flakes
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or raw honey
  • Optional sage leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground meat with minced garlic, chili flakes, thyme, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, pepper, and sage in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly by hand until well-blended.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties about 3 to 3 ½ inches wide and 1 to 1 ½ inches thick.
  4. Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil and preheat it to 375°F.
  6. Once preheated, place 4-5 patties in the air fryer.
  7. Air fry the patties for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Remove the cooked patties and keep them warm while repeating the process with the remaining mixture.
  9. Serve with your choice of sauce.
