Ingredients

The rice

  • 3 cups sweet rice

The water

  • sufficient amount water

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under warm water 2-4 times and drain.
  2. Soak the rice in warm water for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Boil a pot of water sufficient to submerge the rice.
  4. Strain the rice and set it aside.
  5. Once the water is boiling, turn it off and add the rice, stirring for 3 minutes.
  6. Carefully strain the rice again and set aside.
  7. Add water to the steam pot and place the bamboo basket on top without touching the water.
  8. Transfer the rice to the bamboo basket, cover with a lid, and steam for 30 minutes.
