Mango Macadamia Caramel Rolls

Ingredients

The caramel mixture

  • 1 ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 6 tablespoons butter

The filling

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • ½ cup macadamia nuts

The dough

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and allspice in a bowl, then combine 1 cup of this mixture with 6 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan and cook over low heat until dissolved.
  2. Add chopped mango to the saucepan and cook for a few more minutes, then spread the mixture in a baking pan and sprinkle with chopped macadamia nuts.
  3. Roll the thawed dough into a square, spread with the remaining butter, and top with the remaining brown sugar mixture, pressing it into the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly, seal the seams, and cut into 1-inch slices.
  5. Place the slices in the baking dish, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, then let stand for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
