Instructions
- Combine butter and honey for the honey butter mixture and set aside.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, heat milk with butter and salt until melted, then whisk in egg and honey.
- Combine the milk mixture with the yeast mixture.
- Add whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes, then let it rise in a greased bowl for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into rolls or place in a loaf pan.
- Brush with honey butter and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
