Instructions
- Combine warm water and yeast in a standing mixer and let it sit for about 5 minutes until dissolved.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine milk, butter pieces, sugar, and salt, then microwave until melted.
- Whisk in honey and egg into the milk mixture, ensuring it cools to a warm temperature to prevent curdling.
- Combine the milk mixture with the yeast mixture and mix for 2 minutes at medium speed.
- Add bread flour and mix, then gradually add all-purpose flour until the dough doesn't stick to the bowl.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8 to 12 minutes until soft, then place in a greased bowl and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours.
- Punch down the dough, knead briefly, then refrigerate covered for 30 minutes.
- Shape the dough into balls or place in a greased loaf pan, then let rise again if desired.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Remove from the pan and let cool before serving.
