Ingredients

The chickpeas

  • 2 15-ounce cans chickpeas

The spices

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon coarse salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

The oil

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Pat the chickpeas dry with a kitchen towel and remove the towel from the pan.
  3. Combine the spices in a bowl and sprinkle them over the chickpeas, drizzling with olive oil, then toss to coat.
  4. Spread the chickpeas in an even layer on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
