Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough (16 ounce)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • to taste none chopped candy bars or candy pieces, for topping

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat a pie plate with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. 2. Press the cookie dough evenly into the bottom and about 1 inch up the sides of the pie plate.
  3. 3. Bake for 15 minutes until the edges are set and golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean.
  4. 4. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  5. 5. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of peanut butter on top of the chocolate chips and let it stand for about 5 minutes.
  6. 6. Gently spread the melted chocolate and peanut butter over the crust using a spatula or knife.
  7. 7. Sprinkle candy pieces in a single layer on top.
  8. 8. Chill for at least 30 minutes to set the topping before cutting into wedges and serving.
