Ingredients

The donuts

  • cup coconut flour
  • 1 scoop protein powder (20-28 grams; plant-based for dairy-free)
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons zero calorie sweetener
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The icing

  • ¾ scoop protein powder (15-20 grams)
  • cup unsweetened almond milk
  • to taste sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray.
  3. Whisk together the egg and egg whites, then add the almond milk, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then combine with the wet ingredients.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut molds and bake for 23-25 minutes.
  6. For the icing, mix the protein powder and almond milk until thick, adjusting consistency as needed.
  7. Spread the icing over the donuts and top with sprinkles.
