Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a nonstick metal donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the almond flour, Besti, protein powder, cocoa powder, psyllium, baking powder, and sea salt.
- Stir in the melted butter, egg whites, and vanilla until a uniform dough forms.
- Pour in the boiling water while mixing with a hand mixer on low speed for about a minute. Let the dough sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Divide the dough into six sections, roll into logs, and place into the greased donut pan.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until dark golden brown and a toothpick comes out almost clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
- Run a spatula around the edges to release the donuts and cool completely on a rack.
- For the glaze, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double boiler, stir until smooth, and let cool slightly.
- Dip the rounded side of each donut into the glaze and swirl to coat. Allow the glaze to set.
