Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, coconut aminos, vinegar, and maple syrup in a bowl and refrigerate.
- Prepare the lettuce buns by cutting the iceberg lettuce into wedges and removing the middle part to create 'buns'.
- Heat avocado oil in a skillet and caramelize the chopped onions with salt over medium-low heat for about 30 minutes.
- Shape the ground beef into thin patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet, add the patties, and brush mustard on one side. Cook until browned, then flip and cook briefly on the other side.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading sauce on the lettuce bun, adding pickles, tomato, and the burger patties, then top with caramelized onions and another lettuce bun.
- Wrap the assembled burgers in parchment paper or foil and serve.
