Instructions
- Make the sauce by combining all sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisking well. Refrigerate while preparing the burgers.
- Form the ground beef into very thin burger patties, about ¼ inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
- Slice the onion and heat a skillet over medium-low heat with 1 tbsp of ghee. Cook the onion until browned and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- Prepare the toppings by cutting the iceberg lettuce into quarters and removing the thick inner pieces, leaving the outer leaves.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp of ghee. Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked to your liking.
- Assemble the burgers by placing half of a lettuce wedge on a plate, adding a tomato slice and pickles, then topping with a burger patty and sauce. Add onions and more sauce if desired, then top with the other half of the lettuce wedge.
