Buttery Toasted Pecans

Ingredients

The nuts

  • 4 cups raw, unsalted pecan halves

The seasoning

  • ¼ cup real butter
  • 1-1½ teaspoons table salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and adjust the racks.
  2. 2. Set up wire cooling racks over paper towels and place pecans in a large mixing bowl.
  3. 3. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-20 second increments, stirring in between.
  4. 4. Pour the melted butter over the pecans and toss to coat. Add salt if desired.
  5. 5. Spread the pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  6. 6. Toast the pecans in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring every 5 to 10 minutes until they are browned but not burnt.
  7. 7. If salt wasn't added before toasting, sprinkle it over the hot pecans immediately after removing from the oven.
  8. 8. Transfer the pecans to a wire cooling rack to cool before serving.
