Glazed Carrots

carrots, peeled and cut
The broth

chicken broth or vegetable broth

granulated sugar

Instructions
- In a large skillet, combine carrots, broth, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt.
- Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook covered for about 5 minutes until the carrots are almost tender.
- Uncover and return to a boil, cooking until the liquid reduces to about 4 tablespoons, approximately 2 minutes.
- Stir in the butter and remaining sugar, cooking while stirring until the carrots are fully tender and the glaze is golden, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, and season with pepper to taste.
