Ingredients

The Marinade

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 pieces chipotle peppers
  • 2 tablespoons adobo sauce
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves and stems
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

The Tacos

  • 1 ½ pounds flat iron steak
  • to taste sliced avocado
  • to taste chopped tomato
  • to taste chopped onion
  • to taste chopped cilantro leaves

Instructions

  1. Poke holes in the steak and place it in a bag with the marinade ingredients.
  2. Blend the marinade ingredients until smooth, pour over the steak, seal, and refrigerate for 1 hour to overnight.
  3. Let the steak come to room temperature before grilling.
  4. Preheat the grill and oil the grates.
  5. Grill the steak for about 10 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  6. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Warm the tortillas on the grill.
  8. Assemble the tacos with steak and your choice of toppings.
