Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
- Cream together the butter, oil, and sugar for about 3 minutes, then add the sour cream and mix until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, mix the butter and icing sugar, adding vanilla and milk until the desired consistency is reached.
- Assemble and frost the cooled cakes, decorating as desired.
