Ingredients

The bake

  • 1 loaf sourdough bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour

The streusel topping

  • ½ cup pecans
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread by cutting it into cubes and placing it in a casserole dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk, and flour until well combined.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to ensure all bread is soaked.
  4. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
  5. In the morning, preheat the oven and prepare the streusel topping by mixing pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the streusel over the soaked bread mixture and bake until golden and set.
  7. Serve warm with additional toppings if desired.
