Ingredients

The base

  • cup homemade muesli or old-fashioned oats
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
  • ½ cup milk of choice
  • up to ⅔ cup milk for a lighter consistency

The toppings

  • ½ cup fruit (e.g., blueberries, raspberries, or sliced strawberries)
  • to taste none maple syrup or honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the muesli (or oats and cinnamon), chia seeds, and nut butter in a jar or bowl.
  2. Add a splash of milk and mix to incorporate the nut butter, then add the remaining milk and stir well.
  3. Top with your chosen fruit, or wait to add fruit that doesn't store well until ready to serve.
  4. Cover the jar and refrigerate overnight or for up to 5 days.
  5. Before serving, add a drizzle of maple syrup or honey if desired.
